Senior Project Manager

Position Description

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of a project from the time of award until the project closes out, monitoring the health of the project and providing regular reporting to the Leadership Team and our customers. The Senior Project Manager will report directly to the President at our Vancouver, WA office, and work closely with the Project Managers, Office Manager, Foremen, and VP of Business Development. While remote work is permissible as needed, it is essential to report onsite regularly and interact directly with our production staff to identify and address project quality, timeline, and budget issues directly. 

Requirements for all Staff

All staff involved in production must have a working understanding of fabrication and manufacturing principles, and must be able to read and understand technical specifications, drawings, codes, etc. under an established quality program such as AISC, ISO-9001 or similar. Project managers need to be proactive and creative problem solvers, capable of operating autonomously in an ever-changing environment based on clearly defined performance metrics and support to decide how best to achieve targets. All team members are expected to communicate clearly and collaboratively, using data to defend their positions while remaining open to alternative perspectives. A strong work ethic, growth mindset, and unwavering respect for your coworkers & the company values are essential. 

Position Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant project management experience in fabrication, advanced manufacturing, or construction
  • BS in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering or commensurate experience and excellent understanding of fabrication and machining principals
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications, drawings, codes, etc.
  • Experience working under an established quality program such as AISC, ISO, or similar
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including mastery of MS Excel
  • Proficiency in at least one CAD program (Solidworks or similar)
  • Ability to visually inspect work on the shop floor
  • Ability to travel to job sites and customer locations as needed with ample notice

Core Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain project schedules
  • Develop and manage budgets and ensure accurate job cost accounting
  • Source and procure materials and clearly communicate with vendors and suppliers
  • Interface with customers and escalate project issues to the President as needed
  • Conduct engineering design & review, fabrication planning, and develop shop drawings 
  • Prepare submittal documents in close coordination with the Quality Assurance team
  • Develop and issue work packages to the Office Manager and production leadership
  • Communicate job status to management and participate in leadership meetings
  • Develop predictive tools for tracking and reporting Estimate at Completion (EAC)
  • Plan critical project logistics and delivery
  • Create material and labor estimates to support business development and proposals

Compensation

$150,000/year base salary + profit sharing bonus & unlimited PTO
