Quality Assurance MANAGER

Job Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing the company quality program and managing Quality Control (QC)  personnel and third-party inspectors. This is a senior leadership position and will report directly to the President at our Vancouver, WA office, work closely with all staff, to ensure the company is delivering the highest quality products and services. While remote work is permissible as needed, it is essential for the QA Manager to report onsite to interact directly with our leadership team, production staff, and oversee quality inspections first-hand.

Requirements for All Production Staff:

All staff involved in production must have a working understanding of fabrication and manufacturing principles, and must be able to read and understand technical specifications, drawings, codes, etc. We are looking for candidates who are capable of operating autonomously in an ever-changing environment based on clearly defined performance metrics and support to decide how best to achieve targets. All team members are expected to communicate clearly and collaboratively, using data to defend their positions while remaining open to alternative perspectives. A strong work ethic, growth mindset, and unwavering respect for your coworkers & the company values are essential. 

Position Qualifications and Requirements:

  • At least 5 years experience as a Quality Assurance Manager in steel fabrication under an established quality program such as AISC, ISO-9001 or similar.
  • Working knowledge of AISC requirements and AWS welding standards strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Skills:

  • Manage all Quality Assurance Programs for Willamette Technical Fabricators
    • Update and augment quality manual as required
    • Draft, review and approve procedures as needed
    • Oversee new and existing quality program certification, including internal and external audit activities
  • Provide direction and supervision to QC personnel and third-party inspectors
  • Work closely with Office Manager to prepare and submit quality related submittals on projects and ensure thorough documentation and record keeping
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Production staff to assure that all deliverable hardware meets contract and code requirements
  • Oversee company welding program including welder qualifications, WPS and PQRs
  • Oversee quality related training programs for all company personnel


Compensation: $110,000/year plus profit sharing bonus and unlimited PTO
