ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER

Job Summary

The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of a project from the time of award until project closes out. They are responsible for monitoring the health of the project and providing regular reporting to management and  our customers. They must be a self-starter that is comfortable operating autonomously with little direction, in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. They need to be a creative problem solver that can use “outside of the box” thinking to develop innovative solutions. Strong work ethic and unshakable integrity are a must. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Developing Critical Path Method project schedules 
  • Developing and managing budgets
  • Sourcing and procuring materials
  • Interfacing with customers
  • Project fabrication planning 
  • Development of shop drawings
  • Engineering design and design review
  • Preparation of submittal documents
  • Developing and issuing work packages to the shop
  • Communicating job status to management
  • Development of predictive tools for tracking and reporting EAC
  • Planning of critical project logistics
  • Creating material and labor estimates

Required Skills:

  • BS in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering 
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant project management experience in fabrication, machining, or construction 
  • Excellent understanding of fabrication and machining principals
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications, drawings, codes, etc. 
  • Experience working under an established quality program such as AISC, NQA-1, AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency with MS Word and mastery of MS Excel
  • Proficiency in at least one CAD program (Solidworks or similar)
  • Experience using a scheduling software
  • Ability to conduct work remotely and onsite as needed
  • Ability to visually inspect work on the shop floor (i.e. stooping down, climbing ladders, navigating confined spaces, etc.) with reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities
  • Ability to travel to job sites and customer locations as needed with ample notice

Annual Salary: $100,000 plus annual profit-sharing bonus
